Saotome, Chikako

I graduated master course of the Toho university graduate school of pharmacology in 1997, then got PhD of pharmacology in 2001. After working at the RIKEN and the Institute of life sciences of Mitsubishi chemical co., I started my carrier as specialist of management of intellectual property in life science area in Kyoto university graduate school of medicine from 2004: Department of management of technology and intellectual property (~2004), Center for innovation in immunoregulative technology and therapeutics (~2008), and Department of drug discovery medicine (~2016).
My main research topic is technology transfer in life science area. Especially, I investigate various open innovation programs for drug discovery including management of intellectual property. I also analyze patent applications of 123 biotech companies in US, and find importance of production of invention for their business success.
