Medical Innovation Center Bylaws

  1. The Medical Innovation Center (MIC) Board determines basic policies related to issues affecting all MIC projects as well as promotes the efficient operation these projects.
  2. The MIC Board comprises the Director, Assistant Director, all Project Leaders and other individuals that the Director deems necessary as well as the Director of the Graduate School of Medicine Management Officers. In addition, if necessary, project sub-leaders and representatives of affiliated private enterprises may participate as observers at expanded board meetings.
  3. The Director is to serve as chair of all MIC Board meetings.
  4. The following issues are pending:
    1. Basic policies regarding ownership and handling of rights to intellectual property resulting from research activities undertaken at MIC
    2. Policies for the allocation of workspace for MIC projects
    3. Policies regarding management of instruments and devices for the common use of all projects.
    4. Basic policies related to activities undertaken by junior principal investigators, when said activities are not funded under the project to which they are assigned
    5. Policies regarding expenditures for operation of the MIC building
    6. Policies for the development of new projects
    7. Policies for promoting cooperation with other organizations within the Graduate School of Medicine
    8. Other
